Studio Photography

Working with soft lighting and simple backgrounds we were able to capture some great images that really brought their personality to life.

With studio lighting we have total control of the creative process to bring any dimension of color, shadow, and light to the image.

Natural Light Photography

Outdoor light is often magical and backgrounds are plentiful. When possible I like to shoot with a wide open aperture to knock the background out of focus, it becomes a blend of colors and shapes while keeping the subject, you, as the main focus of the image.

  • Question 1: How should I start preparing for my senior photo session?

    Answer:
One of the best ways to get ready is by collecting inspiration. Scroll through Pinterest or Instagram, or check out what your friends are doing whatever catches your eye can help shape your session style. I love it when seniors share example photos or mood boards. Whether it’s natural and outdoorsy, bold and edgy, or timeless and classic, the more you share, the better I can tailor the session to reflect you.

Question 2: Do I need to plan everything ahead of time?

    Answer:
Not at all! Some seniors love planning every detail, from outfits to locations, while others prefer to keep it simple and spontaneous. Whichever way you roll, I’ve got you. My job is to help you feel relaxed and confident, whether you're camera-shy or ready to strike a pose.

Question 3: Any final tips before photo day?

    Answer:
Keep things easy and fun this is your time to shine! A little inspiration goes a long way, and when paired with a session that’s relaxed and tailored to you, the results are something you’ll love now and treasure forever. If you’re ready to book a senior session in Eugene, Springfield, or anywhere in Lane County, I’d love to connect and start planning something amazing together.

  • Choose outfits that reflect your personality and help you feel confident. Stick to clean, simple pieces in soft tones or neutrals avoid busy prints, neon colors, and big logos. Bring 2–3 outfits for variety, and make sure everything fits well and feels comfortable. Think about your location too: earthy tones for parks, or a bit of edge for downtown Eugene. Not sure what to wear? Send me your ideas I’m happy to help you choose the perfect look!

  • It’s totally up to you! A professional makeup artist can enhance your features for the camera and ensure long-lasting results but many seniors do their own makeup and look amazing. If you go the DIY route, apply in natural light, use a primer and matte products, and go slightly bolder than your everyday look to help your features pop. Bring a few touch-up items like powder and lip color, and most importantly, aim to look like the best version of you. Don’t worry about breakouts I’ve got you covered in editing!

  • Stick with a hairstyle you know and love this isn’t the time to try something totally new. If you’re getting a trim or color, schedule it at least a week before your session so your hair has time to settle. Light waves, loose curls, or a smooth natural look photograph beautifully, but avoid stiff styles or too much product. Want a little extra help? A local Eugene hairstylist or mobile beauty pro can style your hair before the shoot for an added boost of confidence.

Any pro tips for photo-ready hair?

Yes! Avoid last-minute cuts or new styles, hydrate your hair the night before, and bring a small touch-up kit (brush, pins, ties, etc.). Keep the weather in mind, especially with Eugene’s wind and humidity we can adjust your style if needed. Most importantly, wear your hair in a way that feels true to you confidence always looks good on camera.

  • Absolutely! Your glasses are part of who you are, and they should be in your photos if that’s how you feel most like yourself. To avoid glare or reflections, consider bringing a pair with lenses removed, asking your optician about anti-reflective coating, or bringing both glasses and contacts for variety. I’ll help adjust positioning during the session to keep your eyes clearly visible.

Any tips for glasses-wearers on photo day?

Yes, clean your lenses beforehand, avoid transition lenses (they can darken outdoors), and bring a backup pair if you have one. With a little planning, we’ll capture sharp, glare-free images that feel true to you. Have questions about your frames or need local Eugene optician suggestions? Just ask I’m happy to help!

  • Yes, your hands actually show up more than you might expect! Whether you're brushing hair from your face, resting your hands on your knees, or leaning casually, your hands help add expression and movement to your photos. A little prep goes a long way.

    Quick tips:
✔ Trim and clean your nails (both guys and girls!)
✔ Moisturize hands and cuticles the night before
✔ Choose polish colors that complement your outfits or go natural
✔ Avoid ink marks or writing on your hands in the days leading up to your shoot
✔ Practice relaxed hand placement I’ll guide you during posing too!

Taking a few extra minutes to care for your hands ensures they look just as polished and confident as the rest of you in your senior portraits.
